2nd Shift- Setup Operator Centerless Grind

Job Summary
Assist the centerless grinding area by maintaining production and quality levels through periodic operator checks and spot-checking setups. Assume complete responsibility for all aspects of centerless grinding machine and precision gauging equipment operation, including recommending optimum feeds and speeds, determining compensation requirements, selecting tools, and solving unusual grinding problems. Change, select, and dress grinding wheels as needed. Determine best work assignments to maintain quality and workflow flow. Train new employees in the centerless grinding area and use gauges such as micrometers, verniers, indicators, shadow gauges, and jo blocks. Report maintenance requirements to supervisors timely and maintain good production records. Assist operators, segregate and transport materials within the grinding area, keep the work area clean and safe, and fill in on any job in the department as required.

- Ability to determine the best work assignments
- Ability to maintain quality and the flow of work
- Ability to train new employees in the centerless grinding area
- Ability to use gauges such as micrometers, verniers, indicators, shadow gauges and jo blocks
- Ability to check gauges
- Ability to direct the use of gauges
- Ability to report all maintenance requirements to the supervisors on a timely basis
- Ability to maintain good production records
- Ability to assist operators when required
- Ability to segregate, identify and transport material within the grinding area
- Ability to keep the work area clean and safe
- Ability to fill in on any job in the department as required
- Ability to perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor
