Job Summary
2nd Shift Security Officer responsible for controlling entrances and movement of pedestrians and vehicle traffic, patrolling buildings and perimeters, escorting materials and personnel, inspecting security and fire exposures, and completing reports. Maintain a professional image with strong customer-service focus, stay current with post orders, monitor surveillance equipment, respond to emergencies, and coordinate with customers, local law enforcement, and fire departments. Duties may vary by post and location; role emphasizes vigilance, teamwork, and adherence to security procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Duties may vary depending on department size, organizational structure, geographic location and post assignments
- Be on time and report to post in full uniform
- Patrol physical property or maintain fixed post position
- Monitor cameras or equipment per post orders
- Maintain knowledge of emergency policies and procedures
- Complete Daily Activity Reports and relevant reports
- Know life safety systems and access control equipment
- Communicate daily with Security Supervisor about issues
