2nd Shift Quality Technician

Job Summary
Collect IBCs from production lines per test schedules, compare results against company standards, and separate acceptable from unacceptable product. Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections to verify quality, conducting UN performance testing and documenting records for regulatory compliance. Record test data accurately in shift reports and notify supervisors when inspection data exceeds limits or major quality incidents occur. Make recommendations on product disposition to the Quality Manager and Production, and execute shift handovers with complete reports. Follow escalation rules, containment procedures for defective items, and safety protocols while lifting up to 100 lbs. Assist with training activities, investigate customer complaints, and provide backup support for the SHEQ manager.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 2 years related trade school training; or equivalent of education and experience in similar environment
- Use and understanding of precision measuring instruments and gauges, specifications, charts and diagrams
- Ability to accurately read measuring devices, blueprints, product specifications and test procedures
- Ability to lift 55 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs
- Good hand/eye coordination and motor skills
- Dependable, reliable and responsible enough to handle equipment safely and sensibly
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Ability to operate a Forklift in a safe manner, or ability and willingness to learn
- Computer skills
- Familiarity with windows and Microsoft office suite
- Strong communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and recordkeeping
- Ability to lift 55 lbs overhead
- Good hand/eye/foot coordination and motor skills
- Must be able to stand, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel and/or crouch for extended periods of time
- 20/20 corrected vision
- Normal hearing range
