Job Summary
Conduct in-process and finished product inspections to ensure Victaulic specifications are met, documenting results in reports and logs while entering data into quality databases. Investigate accidents and near misses by completing appropriate reports and taking action to eliminate root causes, then promptly report any injuries, unsafe acts, or equipment failures to Plant Management. Perform pre-production audits as part of the Scrap Reduction Program and instruct hourly personnel on proper use of computer systems and measuring equipment. Collaborate with production teams to identify quality issues, implement solutions, and provide feedback for improving manufacturing processes. Possess the authority to make disposition on and release product to the next process or customer.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate, or equivalent
- Read and understand engineering procedures, drawings, dimensions, and tolerances
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects
- Knowledge of quality control standards, inspection techniques, and testing methods
- Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Capable of working varying shifts, as designated, and occasional Saturdays or overtime during the week
- Possess the authority to make disposition on and release product to next process including release to customer
Desired Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in a quality-related role preferred
- Foundry experience preferred
- Certification in Quality Assurance or Quality Control (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector) is a plus
