Job Summary

Inspect incoming materials using measuring tools and visual techniques to verify conformance to engineering specifications and GD&T drawings. Document non-conformances in the computerized quality system, contain defective parts, and manage FIFO flow of received goods. Perform visual inspections of painted surfaces, welds, and packaging, then sort and rework non-conforming materials as instructed. Collect and record data for management while acting as an impartial third party between production sources and customer facilities.

  • 2- or 4-year technical degree preferred
  • Previous work experience in a quality background preferred
  • Proficiency in English
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Demonstrated flexibility within a fast-paced, challenging environment
  • Ability to take initiative and recognize needs
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential material
  • Operating-level proficiency using computer software programs
  • Operating-level knowledge of material handling equipment - pallet jacks and hoists
  • Comprehension-level knowledge and ability to interpret engineering drawings (blueprints)
  • Comprehension-level knowledge and understanding of inspection techniques, and the selection and manipulation of measuring tools, equipment, and gauges (micrometers, calipers etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability in interpreting engineering specifications
  • Comprehension-level knowledge and ability to interpret geometrically dimension and tolerance (GD&T) engineering drawings
  • Demonstrated ability in handling and maintaining precision measuring tools, equipment, and gauges
  • Perform visual inspection of painted surfaces, surface defects, cleanliness and packaging
  • Perform visual inspection of various types of welds
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential material
  • Must have reliable transportation

Desired Qualifications

  • Warehousing and logistics operations work experience preferred
  • 2- or 4-year technical degree preferred
  • Previous work experience in a quality background preferred
