Job Summary
Conduct organoleptic evaluations of flavor ingredients and finished products while performing routine QC tests including specific gravity, refractive index, pH, flashpoint analysis, particle size testing, Gas Chromatography, titration, and micro testing. Maintain accurate records, test results, and batch release documentation by reviewing Certificates of Analysis and approving raw materials for use and finished products for shipment. Communicate quality deviations to Production and Quality teams promptly, assist in investigations of non-conformances, and implement corrective actions. Calibrate laboratory instruments and follow all safety protocols to maintain a clean environment. Work Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm. Collaborate with Production, R&D, vendors, and the Purchasing team to resolve quality issues and assist customers with COA or shelf-life extension requests.
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in a food, beverage, or flavor manufacturing QC role
- Understanding of FDA, USDA, GMP, and State Food Safety/Quality regulations
- Knowledge of sensory evaluation techniques and food safety standards
- Familiarity with laboratory testing methods, microbiology, and chemical analysis
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with facilities, regulatory agencies, customers, and vendors
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Desired Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in food science, Chemistry, or related field preferred
