Job Summary
Assign work to employees and set priorities per production schedule while studying assembly instructions and blueprint specifications. Coordinate and train staff to follow work instructions for sub-assembly manufacture, ensuring efficient flow and on-time shipping. Monitor efficiency and quality metrics, update supervisor and system WIP status, and identify production problems to notify management. Perform duties of all work cell positions as needed and maintain a safe, clean environment by complying with safety procedures and alerting supervisors to hazards. Serve as a technical expert and trainer within the production work cell, acting as backup to the Senior Group Leader.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Minimum three years' experience working in a production environment
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and demonstrate flexibility
- Competently coordinate the work of others
- Ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment
- Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to communicate and follow directions effectively both verbally and in written format
- Ability to use PC, Microsoft Office Suite products, and online assembly process documents
- Understanding of basic math skills – adding, subtracting, and measuring
- Ability to take an active role in recommending and implementing continuous improvements in the production work cells
- 20% clerical and planning
- 80% material handling, production assembly machine operations, and/or walking and assisting production employees
- Must be able to wear hearing protection
- Must be able to wear eye and foot protection
- Must be able to lift weights up to 30 pounds regularly
- Must be able to lift weights of up to 45 pounds on an occasional basis
- Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, grasp, and coordinate eye/hand/foot
- Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
