Read production orders and blueprints to determine required set-up, then retrieve parts and secure them in fixtures. Weld front and back of grills, switch arms, beaters, hoods, helix blades, and gear mounts using various metals under close tolerances. Operate wire feed welding machines to weld bull nose plates, nose cones, rings, and gear nuts, threading electrode wire and adjusting current and voltage. Clean workpieces with grinders and chisels, visually examine welds, and pressure test them at 300 psi. Grind and reweld deficient welds, arrange finished parts, and keep production records while performing preventive maintenance and maintaining work area cleanliness.
