Job Summary
Evaluate mechanical problems using diagnostic equipment and perform repairs on commercial passenger vehicles including motorcoaches, minibuses, school buses, and double-decker buses. Check and repair electrical and cooling systems, analyze engine performance for tune-ups, and conduct routine preventive maintenance. Operate tools and machinery per safety guidelines while maintaining accurate maintenance records and ensuring work areas remain clean and orderly. Part-time, second shift with rotating weekends. $22-40/hour with quarterly bonuses and tool allowance after 90 days. In-house CDL training available. Gray Line Tennessee operates five businesses focused on safety and quality transportation services in Nashville.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two years of experience in shop setting
- Knowledge of diesel and fuel engines
- Ability to diagnose mechanical problems
- Ability to perform repairs
- Ability to operate equipment and tools involved in vehicle repair
- Working knowledge of computers
- Basic data entry skills
- Clean driving record
- Must pass pre-employment background check
- Must pass drug test
- Ability to work in shop environment in all weather conditions
- Ability to moderate walk, stand, climb, lift, carry, stoop, bend, kneel, and reach
- Ability to work outside and inside around moving objects, vehicles, and machinery with moving parts
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with Ford E-Series, F-Series, and Cummins engines
- Experience with similar commercial vehicle platforms
