Job Summary
Operate production equipment and perform tasks from raw material to final packaging while strictly following SOPs and safety regulations. Monitor product quality, execute start-up and shut-down activities, and maintain accurate production counts. Utilize proper PPE, keep lines organized and clean under an Autonomous Maintenance Program, and participate in cross-training across line positions. Train new associates and laborers, conduct safety audits, and meet safety targets. Work the 2nd shift (Monday–Thursday, 3:30pm–2:00am) at the Lynchburg, VA Carroll plant earning $18.00/hour plus shift differential. Forklift experience and chemical handling knowledge are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to comprehend and abide by relevant policies/procedures pertinent to safety, quality, security, and operations
- Strong Attention to detail
- Must have good attendance record and be on time
- Ability to Multi-task and watch multiple processes at the same time
- Must have a positive attitude towards work and can work well as a member of a team
- Required to have 20/20 vision or corrected 20/20
- Employee must have full range of motion to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, stoop or kneel
- Employee must be able to complete repetitive strenuous work under varying climate conditions
- Employee must be able to safely lift up to 70lbs
- Employee must be able to stand for extended periods
- Must be able to work in a plant environment with varying levels of temperature and physical requirements
- After receiving training, employee must be able to show understanding and competency on safety rules and regulations by written or verbal examination
- Ability to understand and follow posted signage throughout the facility
- Once hired and trained, have a clear understanding of lock-out, tag-out procedures
- Once hired and trained, have a clear understanding of Hazard communication policies
- Must be able to work Monday – Thursday; 3:30pm – 2:00am (2nd shift; shift ends Friday morning at 2am)
- Must be able to work at our Lynchburg, VA Carroll manufacturing plant
Desired Qualifications
- Forklift experience a plus
- Experience reading and working with SOPs a plus
- Have experience working with chemicals and/or light chemical manufacturing is preferred
