Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician role on 2nd shift focuses on maintaining and repairing food-manufacturing equipment—mechanical, electrical, pneumatic/hydraulic—to ensure safe, efficient production. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and adhering to GMP, Food Safety, Food Defense, BRC, and related policies. Requires reading drawings, schematics, and technical manuals, and applying Allen Bradley PLC knowledge for complex repairs or installations. Duties also include coordinating with contractors, training or mentoring other technicians, performing setup/start-up/changeover, conducting shift-start checks, and supporting equipment upgrades while maintaining a clean, safe work area and complying with safety standards. Strong mechanical inclination, math/manufacturing knowledge, communication with Maintenance and Production Leadership, and the ability to work on the production floor are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate’s degree in industrial maintenance technology (or similar program)
- Ability to train, teach, and assess other Maintenance Technician trainees
