Job Summary
Lead technical operations on the assigned shift by directing team members, troubleshooting molding defects, and managing machine start-ups, shutdowns, and changeovers. Program and adjust machine control parameters to maintain process standards while minimizing downtime and scrap. Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve operational issues, analyze production data for continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with safety and quality protocols. Provide shift-to-shift handoff support and fill in for the Technical Supervisor as needed. Mentor operators on best practices and standard work procedures to drive operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills in molding processes, machine controls, and related equipment
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, drives, and relay systems
- Ability to identify root causes, solve problems, and implement corrective actions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and shift-to-shift handoff communication
- Ability to effectively communicate with operators, technicians, supervisors, managers, vendors, and cross-functional teams
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing production needs
- Demonstrated sense of urgency, accountability, and commitment when supporting machine uptime and product quality
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English
- Strong mathematical aptitude and ability to interpret process and production data
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing to overall team success
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions and solve practical problems in standardized situations
- Minimum of 5 years of experience troubleshooting and programming in at least one of the following: injection molding, blow molding, and extrusion molding
- Associate or bachelor's degree
