Job Summary
Laboratory Technician Level I on the 2nd shift responsible for generating high-quality data using laboratory instruments, working with LIMS and common software, meeting daily production goals, troubleshooting instrument issues, maintaining instruments, and supporting quality and safety programs. Requires mechanical ability, fine motor skills, attention to detail, effective communication, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols. The role involves collaborating with Laboratory Operations, Research and Development, and Quality to resolve issues, participate in Kaizens, and support the quality management system. Includes training on PPE and required certifications; expected to maintain up-to-date safety training and follow the POLARIS Employee Handbook.
Required Qualifications
- GED or High School Diploma required or 3 total years of service at POLARIS Laboratories in the Laboratory Apprentice position
- Current on all mandatory POLARIS training (Core Document Training) at the end of the 90 day period
- Internal candidates have gone 12 months with no written warnings
- A satisfactory 90 day review is on file, successfully meeting the requirements of the Lab Apprentice position
- OSHA PPE training as per Safety requirements
- PPE training and safety certifications as defined within the POLARIS Quality System
- Ability to wear PPE as required by procedures
- Ability to perform multiple tasks with attention to detail
- Ability to detect color and odor
- Effective communication and time management
