Job Summary
Oversee daily maintenance operations in a food manufacturing plant, ensuring equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and safe working conditions. Lead a team of maintenance technicians by assigning work orders, monitoring progress, conducting performance evaluations, and mentoring staff. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems while managing preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime. Collaborate with production, quality, and sanitation teams to prioritize repairs and prevent contamination risks during audits. Ensure all activities comply with GMPs, HACCP, SQF, and FDA/USDA regulations. Coordinate with vendors for specialized services and assist in capital projects. Requires 3-5+ years of manufacturing experience, supervisory background, and food safety knowledge. Flexible hours, weekends, and on-call rotations required.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- 1-3+ years of supervisory or lead technician experience
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, PLC, and industrial automation systems
- Understanding of food safety regulations (GMPs, HACCP, SQF)
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or on-call rotations
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
- Comfortable working in cold, hot, or humid environments typical of food production
