Job Summary
FPI Inspector on 2nd shift responsible for performing detailed fluorescent penetrant inspections to ensure the quality and integrity of aerospace and precision-engineered components. Duties include setting up and calibrating testing equipment, conducting tests, examining materials for surface defects (cracks, pits, incomplete welds), comparing finished products to drawings and specifications, identifying and documenting defects, maintaining logs, writing detailed reports and customer instructions, supporting audits, and upholding 5S workplace standards. Requires experience in FPI inspection levels (Level 2–3), familiarity with codes/standards, and the ability to interpret technical documents; physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Preferred technical degree or equivalent experience and aerospace inspection background.
Required Qualifications
- Technical associate's or bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
- FPI inspection experience
- Level 2 (2–5 years) or Level 3 (5+ years) experience in FPI
- Experience inspecting aerospace products for dimensional tolerances (Y14.5)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Vision acuity and customer-required certifications
