Job Summary
Supervise a technician team performing preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks, containers, and heavy-duty equipment at a post-collection facility. Conduct daily shop huddles, fleet walks, and quality control inspections to ensure all work complies with federal, state, and company safety standards. Plan and schedule repair work to minimize lost productivity while managing inventory, approving expenses, and maintaining records in Dossier Maintenance Software. Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations for A, B, and C-level technicians, including hiring and termination decisions in concert with Human Resources. Oversee complex diagnostics, road testing, and advanced repairs for engine, emission, transmission, brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Manage payroll, departmental goals, and budget preparation to align with division targets.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification T3 Drive
- ASE Certification T4 Brake
- ASE Certification T5 Suspension and Steering
- ASE Certification T6 Electrical/Electronic
- ASE Certification T7 HVAC Systems
- ASE T2 Diesel Engine Certification
- ASE T Master Certified
- 3 years of experience in maintenance working with heavy equipment
- 1 year of supervisory experience in a lead technician role, supervisor or other management role requiring a thorough knowledge of safe working practices, DOT, OSHA and other federal and state regulations
