Job Summary
2nd Shift Facilities Maintenance role responsible for cleaning, repair, and maintenance of buildings, grounds, and related facilities. Performs minor carpentry, painting, plumbing, and oversees maintenance of mechanical equipment. Tasks include cleaning and repairing fixtures (lights, locks, windows, doors, walls, floors, gutters, drains), routine HVAC maintenance, preventive maintenance to keep systems operating efficiently, and janitorial duties (restrooms, dusting, sweeping, mopping, trash, laundry, and landscaping). Works 2pm–10pm, Monday–Friday at the Walker, MI plant; may require early arrival, overtime, or weekend work. Requires 18+ years old, 1–2 years related experience or equivalent, and ability to read/write/speak English and follow instructions. Emphasizes safety, teamwork, and employee-owned ESOP environment.
Required Qualifications
- One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proven experience as janitor or in a similar role
- Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
- Familiarity with handyman and basic landscaping practices
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal workplace instructions
- Ability to stand for 8-10 hours and perform essential job duties
