Job Summary
Custodian position for Sidney Middle School on the 2nd shift (3:00 pm – 11:30 pm). Performs custodial and routine maintenance to protect and preserve the building, grounds, equipment, and furnishings; maintains a safe and sanitary environment for activities; cleans floors, restrooms, and other areas; monitors and reports safety issues; ensures proper storage and labeling of supplies; follows MSDS/AHERA/EPA/OSHA/PERRA regulations; assists with minor repairs and equipment maintenance; supports building security and coordinates with the principal and maintenance supervisor. Requires relevant custodial experience and the ability to work independently, manage tasks, and comply with district safety policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Post-secondary technical/trade school graduate (preferred)
- Clear criminal record
- School or custodial experience required
- Ability to be self-directed and take initiative
- Ability to comply with MSDS, AHERA, EPA, OSHA, and PERRA regulations
- Knowledge of custodial supplies and equipment
- Ability to perform minor electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and mechanical repairs
- Ability to operate and maintain custodial equipment
- Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain safe environment
