Job Summary
Execute complete setups on CNC lathe machines by reading blueprints, interpreting GD&T, and editing G-code directly at the machine. Load tooling, set work and tool offsets, and prove out first articles while making program and offset adjustments as needed. Inspect initial parts using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and indicators to ensure tight-tolerance components meet aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and medical standards. Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, workholding, and feeds and speeds before releasing jobs into production. Work the 2nd shift Monday through Friday with overtime available.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of complex CNC lathe setup experience
- Fluent in G-code with the ability to confidently read, troubleshoot, and edit programs at the machine
- Experience loading tooling, setting work and tool offsets, and proving out new jobs
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
- Experience performing first article inspections and making setup modifications
- Proficient with micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
