2nd Shift CNC Large Mill Operator

Job Summary

Set up and operate large CNC or manual mills to produce parts efficiently, following standardized work and safe practices. Load and unload heavy raw materials and finished parts using overhead cranes, while reading blueprints and work instructions to select appropriate tooling, feeds, and speeds. Perform setups for large workpieces, verify measurements with micrometers and calipers, and maintain accurate job logs and documentation. Monitor machine cleanliness and identify operational issues. Requires high school diploma or GED; technical degree preferred. Full-time 40-55 hours, Monday through Friday, 10-hour days Monday through Thursday, with 12-hour shifts and Saturday half-days as needed. Works in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical parts and medium to loud noise levels.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule
  • Full-time work week is 40-55 hours
  • Monday – Friday, 10-hour days Monday – Thursday
  • 12-hour shifts are sometimes required to meet delivery schedules
  • Saturdays (1/2 days) as needed
  • Monday - Friday; 3pm - 1am
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Must be able to squat
  • Must be able to climb
  • Must be able to push/pull objects
  • Must be able to bend at the waist
  • Must be able to reach above the shoulder
  • Must be able to turn or twist body
  • Must be able to use hands/fingers for grasping and reaching
  • Must be able to use hands/fingers for fine manipulation
  • Must be able to wear eye, foot, and/or other personal protective equipment

Desired Qualifications

  • Technical degree in machining
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Experience with common inspection tools (calipers, tape measure, micrometers, etc.)
  • Able to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Able to work independently
