Job Summary
Operate a tractor-trailer or box truck to deliver finished product to customers while complying with state and federal laws and the DAART program. Maintain the vehicle per Elkhart Transportation policy, inspect loads for proper loading and product counts, and verify bill of lading signatures before departure. Support on-time delivery by transporting loads via established routes, returning completed documentation to the Transportation Manager. Perform duties in accordance with company performance measures, with specific responsibilities varying by location.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- CDLA License
- Prior experience driving in large vehicles, such as box truck or similar
- Demonstrated experience practicing safe driving practices
- Must regularly lift and or move up to 50 pounds
- Must occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds
- Close vision
- Distance vision
- Color vision
- Peripheral vision
- Depth perceptions
- Ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience delivering and handling freight
