Job Summary
2nd Shift Blood Component and Manufacturing Technician at the American Red Cross responsible for manufacturing blood products and samples, processing units into transfusable components (red cells, platelets, and plasma), leukoreducing, and performing labeling, storage, and sample-tube management. The role requires meeting quality and production goals, performing inventory management, data entry and use of computer programs, and effective communication with internal and external customers. Flexibility to work a variable schedule including weekends and holidays is required. Minimum education is High School or equivalent with related experience; strong computer skills and teamwork are essential. The role involves standing and lifting up to 50 pounds and may require training on first shift for 4-6 weeks.
Required Qualifications
- High School or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years of related experience in a regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and related experience preferred.
- Good computer skills.
- Ability to work on a team, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
