2nd Press Operator (A/B Shift Rotation)

Job Summary
Maintain press profitability through constant quality control, equipment maintenance, and crew management. Pull and hang plates in register, cut coating blankets, and check grain direction on 40-inch presses. Line up sheets verifying size, straightness, pagination, bleed, and position relative to the HP screen. Inspect both sides of sheets for defects including scratches, water, oil spots, and missed guides. Ensure proper coating usage, operate or assist with feeders, and sign off on all fanned-out sheets. Rotate every two weeks between the 7:00 AM–3:30 PM A shift and the 3:30 PM–12:00 AM B shift. Requires minimum three years of machine press operation and ability to work under pressure with changing deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of machine press operation
- Basic math skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to work well with co-workers in a team environment
- Ability to operate computer-based technology
- Regularly required to talk or hear
- Regularly required to sit, regular use of hands
- Frequently required to stand and walk
- Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and use foot/feet to operate machine
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- The employee must be able to work under pressure with ever changing deadlines and priorities
Desired Qualifications
- First Press Operator Certification
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- AAS in a related technical field
