Job Summary
2nd Grade Teacher responsible for delivering a TEA-guided curriculum, developing and implementing lessons, assessing student progress, and promoting intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Responsibilities include planning and supervising lessons for teacher assistants/volunteers, employing varied instructional techniques, using technology in instruction, selecting materials, and maintaining open communication with students and parents. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and valid Texas teaching certificate; experience through student teaching, approved internship, or Alternative Certification Program. Exempt position with duties aligned to district policies and professional standards; opportunities for collaboration, professional development, and participation in district improvement efforts. The role emphasizes classroom management, student assessment, and fostering a positive classroom environment while ensuring compliance with TEA guidelines and district regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Be eligible for the appropriate Probationary Certificate through a TEA approved Teacher Certification Program
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- Student teaching, approved internship or approved Alternative Teacher Certification Program
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
