Job Summary
Plans and provides instruction to students in a magnet gifted and talented program based on state, district, and school curricula; develops developmentally appropriate lessons aligned to Utah Core Standards; supports English language development and gifted/talented pedagogy; collaborates with families and colleagues; uses varied instructional strategies and technology; assesses student progress using formative and summative data; adheres to educator standards and district policies; maintains professional communication and engagement with stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university, or will complete a bachelor degree program prior to the contract start date
- Valid Professional or Associate Utah Elementary Educator License, a valid Elementary Educator License from another state that is transferrable to Utah, or will complete a teaching program prior to the contract start date that will lead to a Professional Utah Elementary Educator License
- Valid Professional or Associate Gifted and Talented endorsement, or will obtain a Professional Utah Gifted and Talented endorsement within 3 years
- Professional communication skills including, but not limited to: excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; confident, articulate, and professional speaking abilities; and empathic listening and persuasive speaking skills.
