Job Summary
Repair lights, power outlets, and minor shipboard appliances including galley, laundry, and rooms division equipment while maintaining electrical systems to the highest safety and performance standards. Coordinate with technical departments, proactively communicate spare part inventory, and report completed maintenance to the Chief Electrician for system entry. Conduct daily communications to review progress, prioritize work, and ensure compliance with Public Health, National, and International regulations. Maintain accurate log books, enforce grooming standards, and manage operations in all vessel areas under irregular schedules and overtime requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as a 2nd Electrician on board cruise vessels or similar passenger ships
- All STCW and statutory certificates must be valid
- Good employment references and performance evaluations/recommendations
- Strong technical competence
- A good command of English
- Valid STCW 95 certification
- Valid CoC A-III/7
- Appropriate certification as required by regulations
- A solid understanding of all electrical equipment installed onboard the vessel
- Extensive experience in subordinate positions and on board passenger ships in a similar role
- Physically and medically fit
- Moral integrity
- Excellent fluent English (verbal, written and technical)
- The ability to give and receive instructions in verbal and written forms
- The ability to effectively and efficiently engage with guests and crew members
- Good working knowledge of AMOS
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications
- Must be available to join as scheduled
- Ability to stand, walk long distances, reaching and sitting
- Repetitive motion of bending, going up and down stairs, climbing ladders
- Lifting or pushing of up to 50lbs
- Overtime work

- Vast knowledge of a multi outlet operation
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead, motivate and develop a culturally diverse work force
