Job Summary
Assist the 1st Assistant Repairman in performing maintenance and repairs onboard the cruise ship equipment and systems, while conducting regular inspections and troubleshooting issues. Maintain accurate records of all repair work, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and collaborate with crew members for efficient vessel operation. Participate in emergency drills and respond to emergency situations as needed, while also assisting in ordering and inventorying spare parts. Keep the work environment clean and organized. Requires a high school diploma, two years of experience, and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Valid Basic Safety Training and STCW certification are mandatory. Willingness to work long hours and be on call is essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
- Willingness to work long hours and be on call as needed
- Valid certification in Basic Safety Training and STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping)
