Job Summary
Implement state and league regulations while maintaining discipline and boosting morale within the school sports program. Manage equipment inventory, authorize access, and ensure locker room cleanliness before and after practices. Direct student managers and statisticians, provide rule instruction to athletes, and handle student discipline procedures. Assist the head coach with scheduling, tournament transportation, and in-season conditioning programs. Attend all staff meetings, complete scouting assignments, and de-escalate conflicts with students, parents, or staff. Work flexible evening and weekend hours, including travel and site visits, while maintaining accurate records and adhering to district policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Current NM Coaching licensure
- CPR/AED Certification
- Valid Driver's license
- Car Insurance
- Ability to drive from site to site as needed
- Knowledge of universal hygiene precautions (blood borne pathogens, body fluids, etc.)
- Must know how to properly operate, or be willing to learn to operate, multi-media equipment including current technology as needed
- Must be able to work within various degrees of noise and temperature
- Flexibility and patience are required
- Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignments without direct supervision
- After hours work may be required
- Must be able to make home and site visits
- Must be able to work under stressful conditions on occasion
- Report to work on time
- Evening /weekend hours are applicable
Desired Qualifications
- Has knowledge of existing system and State and NMAA regulations
- Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies approved by the Roswell Independent School District Board of Education
- Has knowledge of the existing system, state and league regulations
- Ability to deescalate students/parents/staff
- Strives to improve skills by attending clinics and using resources made available by the head coach
