Job Summary
Design 2D mechanical submittal drawings for complex industrial fluid-handling and heat-transfer systems using AutoCAD. Build complete Bills of Materials and sales order job packets to guide shop floor assembly from design approval through final production. Walk the manufacturing grid to view active projects, collaborating directly with fabricators and updating post-shipment "as-built" drawings. Act as a technical contact during the submittal process, answering client engineering inquiries to secure fast "approved for production" sign-offs. Utilize custom internal AutoCAD commands and standards to maintain consistent design quality and support peers on technical drafting questions. Located right next to the shop floor, you will enjoy the unique satisfaction of watching your custom designs physically come to life. Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional 2D AutoCAD mechanical design experience in an industrial manufacturing, machinery, or structural fabrication shop
- Clear understanding of how 2D assembly prints translate into raw fabrication and physical assembly
- Professional written and verbal skills to communicate effectively with plant supervisors, project leads, and external clients
- A steady work history demonstrating long-term tenure and commitment (averaging 3+ years per employer)
- Residing within a comfortable 45-minute daily commuting radius of Richfield, WI
- US Citizen or Green Card holder residing within a dependable 45-minute daily drive of the Richfield, WI area
