Job Summary
Infectious disease physician provides comprehensive diagnosis and management of infectious diseases across inpatient and outpatient settings, including conditions requiring antibiotics and AIDS-related care. The role involves interviewing patients, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, designing and implementing treatment plans, and maintaining thorough medical records within a clinical/office environment. Requires MD or DO with PA licensure, and is aligned with hospital values of kindness, excellence, learning, innovation, and safety. The position is based in Dallas, TX with on-site responsibilities at Geisinger Community Medical Center and surrounding Lackawanna County region and includes full-time employment benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (MD or DO)
- Licensed Medical Doctor - State of Pennsylvania
- Board certification in Infectious Disease or eligibility (if implied by role)
- Experience in inpatient and outpatient infectious disease care
- Ability to prescribe antibiotics and interpret diagnostic tests
- Ability to design and implement treatment plans
- Clinical documentation and records maintenance
- Commitment to patient-centered care and hospital policies
- Ongoing professional licensure in Pennsylvania
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
