Job Summary
Pennwood Cyber Charter School seeks state-certified teachers to staff a middle school (6-8) ELA program, teaching and managing instruction from a home office in Pennsylvania. Responsibilities include delivering asynchronous and synchronous instruction for whole group, small group, and 1-1 settings; completing grading, lesson preparation, and communications with students and parents; collaborating with colleagues (PLCs) to develop Personal Learning Plans and refine instructional approaches; maintaining knowledge of K-12 curriculum and duties related to state assessments, field trips, and school events; supporting Individualized Education Plans; engaging in professional development; creating a cyber-friendly school community; and supporting remote instruction with strong organizational skills and technology proficiency. Required: PA-based residency and PA teaching certification, with endorsements in EL or multiple subject areas a plus; willingness to travel for events; strong communication and tech skills; ability to work remotely.
Required Qualifications
- Highly qualified and certified to teach Middle School and/or High School in Pennsylvania
- Endorsements in EL or multiple subject areas a plus
- Pennsylvania residency
- Experience teaching in a cyber learning environment a plus
- Strong technology skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite)
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Willingness to travel for state testing, school and marketing events (may require overnight travel)
- Ability to work remotely
- Ability to effectively work remotely
