Job Summary
The Student Engagement Coordinator supports a program monitoring and assisting students in grades 6-12, identifies students for intervention based on risk factors to prevent disengagement, collaborates with school principals and central office to provide supports, facilitates activities such as after-school tutoring, mentoring, and community partnerships, engages with families to promote education relevance, participates in student-focused problem-solving meetings, maintains confidential records, tracks attendance, truancy, and achievement data, analyzes data to inform interventions, coordinates with counselors to develop and implement individual career and academic plans (ICAP), supports transition from middle to high school, and helps re-engage students who are disengaged. Desired skills include effective communication, ability to work independently and in teams, cultural sensitivity, data compilation and reporting, and experience with at-risk youth and family engagement; preferred qualifications include bilingual Spanish and knowledge of Google Office Suites; the role requires a Colorado driver’s license, fingerprint background check, and adaptability within a school/office environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, education, or similar field
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in Education, Counseling, K-12, secondary student advocacy, or work with at risk youth
- Valid Colorado Driver's License
- Reliable Transportation
- Employee must complete a fingerprint-based criminal background check and must be cleared by the Office of Human Resources
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary
