Job Summary
ESS Preschool Teacher Itinerant for 2026-2027: Plan, organize, and implement an instructional program for preschool students within the Exceptional Student Services/Teaching and Learning Services framework; collaborate with classroom teachers and district staff; use data to guide instruction; differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs (including students with IEPs/504 plans and ELL/district-supported populations); develop daily lesson plans and clear learning objectives; establish and communicate grading/progress documentation; maintain positive relationships with students, families, and staff; utilize technology to support instruction and differentiate lessons; foster a standards-based approach aligned with IDEA and Title I parental involvement; participate in district/department meetings and professional development; maintain appropriate records and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment; flexibility in scheduling and strong commitment to student achievement and district goals.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Colorado Teaching License within 60 days from date of hire
- Endorsed in: Early Childhood Education Special Education Endorsement and Elementary Endorsement or highly qualified by passing the PLACE/PRAXIS test for Elementary Education
- Be eligible for a Teacher in Residence (TIR) or Alternative Licensing Program in content area
- Fingerprint-based criminal background check
- Communication in English (oral and written)
