Job Summary
5th Grade Teacher at Pueblo School District 60 responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an instructional program in an elementary setting that guides students to develop academic potential; duties include preparing daily lesson plans, delivering instruction aligned to standards, using data to inform instruction, differentiating instruction, incorporating technology, establishing clear objectives and grading standards, maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, and staff, and participating in professional learning communities. Candidates must hold a valid Colorado teaching license with elementary endorsement or be highly qualified in the relevant content area, complete a fingerprint background check, and demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills. The role requires commitment to a safe, supportive learning environment and ongoing professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Colorado Teaching License within 60 days from date of hire
- Elementary Education Endorsement or
- Teacher must be highly qualified in applicable content area through the following options: Endorsement on a Colorado teaching license; Passing score on a State Board of Education approved content exam (ETS Praxis Series); Be eligible for a TiR or Alternative Licensing Program in content area
- Employee must complete a fingerprint-based criminal background check and must be cleared by the Office of Human Resources
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary
- READ Act training requirement for K-3 or Reading Interventionist positions (enrollment/progress in CDE-approved training)
