Job Summary
Assist the bus driver to maintain a safe environment for students during operation, emergencies, and evacuations by assessing potential situations and taking appropriate action. Support students with safe loading and unloading, instruct passengers on safety rules, and implement strategies to manage behavior while monitoring the bus. Provide health care support, including recognizing when a student is unwell and administering basic first aid as needed, and operate lift mechanisms to maneuver heavy wheelchairs. Maintain a clean bus daily and report observations or incidents to district staff. Work full-time (30+ hours/week) on special bus routes, with a 9-month schedule and 0.75 FTE status.
Required Qualifications
- Valid AZ Dept of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Must be able to push, pull, or lift, up to 50 pounds
- Ability to communicate and work well with staff, students, and parents
- Must maintain order among the students, supervises their behavior and enforces district conduct on the bus
- Must use own initiative and judgment in performing job
- Regularly required to sit, talk and/or hear
- Sit approximately 75% of the time
- Walk and stand approximately 20% of the time
- Kneeling/Stooping approximately 5% of the time
- Lift on a regular basis 30-50lbs
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and/or controls; and reach with hands and arms on a regular basis
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
- Obtain and maintain a valid First Aid and CPR Card/Certificate or williness to obtain within 45 days of hire
