Job Summary
Athletic Coach for the Fall 2026 season at Buckeye Union High School District (Goodyear, AZ). Responsibilities include coaching student athletes, organizing and supervising the total sports program, ensuring eligibility per AIA guidelines, communicating team policies to athletes, adhering to district and school drug/alcohol codes, and reporting rosters and athletic scores to the Athletic Director. Assist Athletic Director with athletic events. Requires coaching experience and certifications such as AZ teacher or AZ coaching certification or NFHS Level 1, plus IVP fingerprint clearance and First Aid/CPR certification, and NFHS courses on Fundamentals of Coaching and Concussion in Sports. Outdoor work, standing in inclement weather, and being on your feet for extended periods are expected.
Required Qualifications
- Previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport.
- Valid Arizona teacher certification, or Arizona coaching certification, or Level 1 Certification issued by National Federation of High School Associations (NFHS)
- Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (AZ IVP FPCC).
- Obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR certification.
- Completion of NFHS online education course entitled “Fundamentals of Coaching”.
- Completion of NFHS online education course entitled, "Concussion in Sports - What You Need to Know."
