Job Summary
The Athletic Coach will coach freshman football in Goodyear, AZ as part of the Buckeye Union High School District seasonal program, organizing and supervising the football program, ensuring adherence to AIA eligibility requirements, communicating team policies to athletes and staff, and assisting the Athletic Director with events. The role requires validating athlete eligibility, maintaining safety and compliance with district rules, and reporting rosters and scores to the Athletic Director. Competencies include coaching with professional communication, customer service, attention to detail, organizing supplies, and using relevant software and office technology. Prior coaching experience in football is required, along with AZ teacher or coaching certification or NFHS Level 1, fingerprint clearance, First Aid/CPR certification, and NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching and Concussion in Sports courses.
Required Qualifications
- Previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport
- Valid Arizona teacher certification, or Arizona coaching certification, or Level 1 Certification issued by NFHS (This requirement is only for Head/Varsity positions)
- Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (AZ IVP FPCC)
- Obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR certification
- Completion of NFHS online education course entitled “Fundamentals of Coaching”
- Completion of NFHS online education course entitled, "Concussion in Sports - What You Need to Know.”
