Job Summary
Develop student graduation plans, manage course selections, and coordinate state testing while preventing student dropout and addressing educational handicaps. Maintain confidential student records, compute GPA and class rankings, and refer students to community agencies for specialized services. Conduct parent-teacher conferences, assist with college applications and financial aid, and serve as the campus EOC Coordinator and school board member. Prepare personnel for state assessments and update high school transcripts in the Websmart system. Work Monday through Friday during normal business hours with a Master's degree and valid guidance counselor certification required.
Required Qualifications
- A Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university
- Maintains a valid current certification as a guidance counselor, which is age appropriate for the particular assignment as required by federal, state or local regulations, laws or regulatory bodies including the No Child Left Behind Act
- Valid current certification as a guidance counselor
