Job Summary
Clean and maintain district facilities using routine procedures to ensure safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds. Maintain a cleaning schedule covering floors, chalkboards, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms while keeping sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and play areas neat. Assist with lunchroom set-up, move furniture, and perform minor building repairs as needed. Regulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for appropriate temperatures and economical usage. Open and close buildings daily, checking exit doors and panic bolts, and inspect machines for safety and efficiency. Follow established safety procedures for lifting heavy equipment and handling cleaning supplies. Work irregular hours, including outside and inside environments with exposure to extreme temperatures and chemicals.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures
- Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment
- Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies
- Ability to lift 45 pounds and over on a daily basis
- Ability to climb stairs/ladders
- Ability to grasp/squeeze
- Ability to reach overhead
- Ability to work outside and inside
- Ability to work on slippery or uneven walking surfaces
- Ability to work in extreme hot and cold temperatures
- Ability to work with dust, toxic chemicals and materials
- Ability to work irregular hours
- Ability to work occasional prolonged hours
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
