Job Summary
Occupational Therapy Assistant at Midway Independent School District to provide direct occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist. Requires an Associate’s degree in occupational therapy or equivalent and a valid Texas license (TBOTE); two months experience with school-age children. Salary calculations will be commensurate with job experience. Responsibilities include implementing the OT plan of care, collecting data, assisting with short-term goals, instructing teachers/parents in adaptive equipment and assistive technology, communicating with parents, attending ARD meetings, maintaining records, complying with applicable laws and policies, and maintaining confidentiality and safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in occupational therapy or equivalent
- Valid Texas license as an occupational therapy assistant issued by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners (TBOTE)
- Two months experience in occupational therapy and contact with school-age children
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to implement occupational therapy treatment programs as specified by the occupational therapy plan of care
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
- Two months experience in occupational therapy and contact with school-age children
- Valid Texas license as an occupational therapy assistant issued by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners (TBOTE)
