Job Summary
PLA Special Education Teacher develops and adapts individualized teaching methods for scholars, conducts assessments and observations across areas like academic performance and behavior, creates and implements individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations in alignment with IEP/504 requirements, collaborates with classroom staff to ensure student needs are met, and delivers engaging instruction for small groups and individuals in Montgomery, AL, supporting under-served communities and advancing student growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education from an accredited college or university
- Valid State Teacher License or enrolled in a credentialing program
- Endorsements if applicable
- Effective pedagogical skills driven by standards and data-driven assessment
- Experience tracking and using data to drive instruction
- Organizational and technology skills to encourage scholar engagement
