Job Summary
Facilitate ARD/IEP committee meetings and document decisions in compliance with state and federal law and district guidelines. Prepare ARD draft/proposals, review ARD documents for completion and quality (IEPs, PLAAFP statements, transitions, supplements), and support teachers in developing effective IEPs. Produce and analyze reports (progress, PEIMS verification, student rosters), ensure ARD/IEP documents are timely locked, and ensure accuracy of state assessment information. Maintain professional knowledge of compliance and best practices, respond to parent inquiries within 24 hours, participate in meetings as requested by Central Special Education Administration, and ensure district regulatory adherence. Follow end-of-year procedures for documentation submission, and adapt to district safety, technology, and instructional needs. This role operates within the Special Education Department in Houston, TX with posting requirements indicating full-time employment and a 195-day calendar.
Required Qualifications
- Texas Special Education Teacher Certification
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience as a special education teacher
