Job Summary
Provide students with appropriate music learning activities and experiences to support their holistic growth. Develop and implement district-aligned lesson plans for Elementary Music, reflecting diverse learning styles, and assess student progress. Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEP, and work with staff to set instructional goals. Maintain classroom management and a positive learning environment; supervise instructional aides and volunteers as assigned; sponsor extracurricular activities and communicate professionally with parents and community members. Participate in staff development, comply with district/state policies and safety procedures, and support the school mission. Position is full-time at Peach Creek Elementary under the Texas Education Agency guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or SOE from an ACP
- Demonstrated competency in Elementary Music
- Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of Elementary Music; Knowledge of curriculum and instruction; Ability to instruct students and manage behavior
- Experience: Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
- Major Responsibilities and Duties: Instructional Strategies; Plan and prepare lessons; Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies; Conduct assessment of student learning styles; Work with special education to modify curricula per IEP; Plan with staff to determine goals; Plan and assign work to instructional aide(s) and volunteers; Student Growth and Development: extracurricular activities; Be a positive role model; Classroom Management and Organization: create conducive environment; manage behavior; protect materials; select books and materials; maintain reports; Communication: open professional relationships; Professional Growth and Development: staff development; comply with regulations; attend faculty meetings; safety protocols; Other duties as assigned.
