Job Summary
Paraprofessional/Pupil Support Assistant in a Special Education setting providing instructional reinforcement, accommodations, data collection, behavior management, and support for academics, social-emotional needs, and daily living activities under a licensed teacher. Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs (toileting, feeding, dressing as needed), supporting student learning through small group or individual activities, implementing district policies (emergency procedures, positive behavior supports, crisis intervention), supervising during lunch and arrival/departure, and maintaining confidentiality and equitable treatment. Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds, proficient communication, follow directions, punctuality, organizational skills, and flexibility with schedule changes. Starting pay is $22.51 per hour with benefits; location is Pinecrest Elementary (ISD 200) in Hastings, Minnesota, for the 2026-2027 school year with potential shift changes in 2027-2028.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet one of the following requirements: at least two years of qualifying college credits (usually 60 credits in Minnesota) through an accredited institution of higher education, or; an associates or higher degree, with qualifying course work, or; a passing score on a valid and reliable formal assessment.
