Job Summary
Assist teachers in implementing Individualized Education Programs and supporting students with severe needs across regular, ESL, and special education settings. Monitor student activities, maintain classroom order, and supervise duty areas including playgrounds, lunchrooms, and transportation zones. Provide personal care and non-medical health support while preparing instructional materials and helping students acquire English fluency. Submit safety and disciplinary reports, maintain student work records, and participate in field trips and safety drills. Perform other duties as assigned to meet district needs.
Required Qualifications
- AZ DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- High School diploma or equivalent
- First Aid/CPR Certification and AED
- Ability to speak fluent Spanish
- Nonviolent Physical Crisis Intervention certification
- Experience working with school-age children
- Experience working with children with severe needs
- Professional development history which shows knowledge concerning students with severe needs
- Experience working with students in various levels of instruction
- Computer skills in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel and student data systems
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in a reading intervention classroom
