Job Summary
Instructs mathematics and aviation-science for grades 9-12 under the Norman Public Schools framework. Develops and administers curriculum aligned with district goals; creates lesson plans and instructional materials; teaches concepts across mathematics and aviation subjects; conducts ongoing assessments and adjusts instruction to meet student needs, including students with special needs. Maintains accurate records of student achievement and attendance, communicates effectively with students and parents, encourages parental involvement, and collaborates with other staff members. Ensures classroom conduct meets school standards and participates in faculty meetings and committees. Requires a current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate with endorsements and a bachelor’s degree in education or related field; 182-day contract with induction for new teachers; duties include extended hours around school events and trips, with standard office equipment usage and travel to district meetings. The role emphasizes knowledge of pedagogy, diverse math topics, data analysis, and the ability to manage instructional resources and student assessment.
Required Qualifications
- Current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate with endorsements for the appropriate level/subject area.
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field from College/university recognized by State Board of Education.
