Job Summary
Maintain a caseload of 50-100 monthly student treatments with supervision, collaborating on progress reports and documenting all communication regarding students. Administer standardized tests, supervise teachers in return demonstrations, and grade quarterly IEP progress while attending necessary IEP meetings. Assist with fabricating splints, providing inservices to school staff, and supporting Occupational Therapy Department program planning. Submit billable minutes per Medicaid procedures and maintain professional licensure through annual continuing education. Requires a current NCBOT license, valid NC driver's license, and background check.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy assistant program
- Current NCBOT license to practice as an occupational therapy assistant in the state of North Carolina
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders
- Finger dexterity
- Physical ability to perform basic life operational functions including kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion
- Hand and finger dexterity for accurate input and output of computer data
- Ability to express and exchange ideas by means of spoken word
- Ability to maintain professional license criteria according to guidelines set by the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy including 10 hours of continuing education per year
