Job Summary

Maintain a caseload of 50-100 monthly student treatments with supervision, administering standardized tests and supervising teachers in return demonstrations. Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist on student progress, write post-treatment notes, and communicate with classroom teachers regarding IEP goals. Grade student progress quarterly, attend IEP meetings, and assist with fabricating splints and adaptive equipment. Submit billable minutes per Medicaid procedures and maintain professional licensure through annual continuing education. Perform other duties as assigned while supporting the Occupational Therapy Department's program planning and staff inservices.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited occupational therapy assistant program
  • Hold a current NCBOT license to practice as an occupational therapy assistant in the state of North Carolina
  • Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders
  • Must have finger dexterity
  • Must be physically able to perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion
  • Hand and finger dexterity for accurate input and output of computer data
  • Must be able to express and exchange ideas by means of spoken word
  • Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required
  • Must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license

Desired Qualifications

  • Pediatric experience is preferred
