Job Summary
Develops English education curriculum aligned with district goals; teaches English to high school students (grades 9-12) at Norman High School; builds and administers lesson plans, instruction in English grammar, syntax, literature, reading, and writing; fosters critical analysis through discussions of varied texts; assesses student progress and adapts instruction; maintains records and communicates with parents; collaborates with staff and participates in professional meetings; travels to district buildings as required; operates within district standards and state assessments.
Required Qualifications
- Current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate with endorsements for the appropriate level/subject area
- Bachelor's from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment
- Oklahoma State Certification as an English Education Teacher
