Job Summary
Lead the Middle School Head Track and Field program by competing in a full varsity schedule, implementing MSHSAA standards, and supervising student-athletes at all practices and contests. Manage equipment inventory, maintain accurate records of team accomplishments, and arrange for award issuance and media statistics. Collaborate with the Principal to establish performance goals, oversee assistant coaches, and drive fundraising and external promotion. Fulfill eight contact hours of professional development, including MSHSAA/NFHS courses and Sports First Aid training. Promote student-athlete achievements academically and athletically while modeling high standards of sportsmanship.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a four-year college degree
- Contracted by the KCMSD Board of Education for the school year as a full or part time teacher
- 1-3 years of coaching experience
- Knowledge of particular sport (philosophy & coaching)
- Must successfully complete the MSHSAA/NFHS Coaching Principles Course
- Must successfully complete Sports First Aid Courses
- A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept
- Working knowledge of all collegiate eligibility center regulations
